SocialLens

Terms of Service

Last updated: 2026-11-07

These Terms govern the use of SocialLens, an API that delivers public social media profile data as JSON. By creating an account or using the API you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

1. What the service does

SocialLens reads information that is already public on social media profiles (TikTok, Instagram, YouTube and any platform added later) and returns it in a structured form through API requests. Examples: username, display name, follower count, post count and bio.

Public data only

The service returns only data that is publicly accessible, without login, on the source platform. We do not access private profiles, restricted content, messages, e-mails or anything the platform does not show to a logged-out visitor. We do not use fake accounts or third-party credentials to obtain data.

2. Who may use it

You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into a contract. If you use the API on behalf of a company, you confirm you are authorized to accept these Terms for it.

3. Your account and your API key

Your API key identifies you. Keep it secret: anything done with it counts as done by you, including credit consumption. If you suspect a leak, revoke the key at /keys and generate a new one. Do not share, resell or expose the key in public code.

4. Responsibility for data use

You are solely responsible for how you use the data obtained through the API. By using the service you agree to:

5. Prohibited uses

You may not use SocialLens to:

6. Credits and billing

7. Usage limits

Each key is limited to 60 requests per minute on data endpoints. Above that the API answers with a 429 error and tells you how long to wait. We may adjust these limits and will note it in the documentation.

8. Availability and warranties

Data comes from external platforms that change, go down or block reads without notice. Therefore we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, nor that every profile can be read at any given moment. We do our best to keep the service stable, and when we fail you are not charged for it. The service is provided "as is", with no warranty of absolute accuracy: numbers reflect what the platform displayed at the time of reading.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, SocialLens is not liable for lost profits, data loss or indirect damages arising from the use or unavailability of the API. Our total liability in any case is limited to the amount you paid in the 12 months before the event.

10. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, abuse the service or put the platform or third parties at risk, with or without prior notice depending on severity. In cases of proven abuse, remaining credits may be forfeited without refund. You may close your account at any time from your settings.

11. Changes

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be announced by e-mail or on the platform with reasonable notice. Continuing to use the API after a change means you accept the new version.

12. Governing law and contact

These Terms are governed by the laws of Brazil. Venue: [DEFINIR: venue, e.g. São Paulo/SP]. Questions: [DEFINIR: contact e-mail] or the contact page.
